There is just one little problem. Well, actually it's a rather big problem. Eliza has no idea where she's been for the last five years. And no idea why anyone would be after her. So, yeah, keeping her safe is a really big problem. Especially since they seem to know where she is! No question about it, Sam just might need to spend some of his money to keep her safe and to get answers, answers he may not like.
Running to You is a suspense-filled read that keeps the reader guessing as to what exactly going on and why Eliza is in danger. Partial bits and pieces are slowly revealed as her memory slowly comes back. But often what she remembers leaves more questions.
Now as Sam attempts to help Eliza figure out what is going on, what happened, etc. he has some serious issues. The main being his anger at Eliza having left him. Eliza saw something and per Sam never gave him a chance to explain. Well, when the truth comes out (memory is revealed) one can understand Eliza's reaction to a point. And yet her sudden decision is what put her in the position she now finds herself in.
I have to be honest, I really didn't connect with Sam. Some of his attitude just really rubbed me wrong and I can't see why Eliza liked him, but she did, and we got a story out of it. I did like the mystery/suspense aspects of the book. As for Sam's brothers I look forward to learning more about them in future books in this series.
