When hundreds of authors gather for their annual ACFW conference in August, readers are invited to participate in their own event on the same premises. Storyfest will present a full program of meet & greet or meals with authors, casual conversation, games, panels, swag bags of story-related treasures, and the opportunity to hear from the heart of readers’ favorite authors.

Per reader requests, the ACFW Storyfest team is also including reader-only workshops to help answer reader questions and gain reader feedback. The ACFW bookstore will also be open to readers. Last year’s attendees recommend bringing extra luggage for the book and swag haul.

Operation Find a Guy ~ Review

Operation Find a Guy JustRead Blog Tour

Welcome to the Blog Tour for
Operation Find a Guy
by Amy R. Anguish,

Operation Find a Guy

Operation Find a Guy
Roadtrip Romance #3
By Amy Anguish

Skye Jones just wants to have fun and enjoy life - if she has to work she doesn't want to do anything boring or be stuck in an office. Unfortunately her father doesn't see things her way. In fact he's threatened to take her away her car if she doesn't have a full time job by summer's end.

What's a girl to do? Take a temporary job with her sister's bridal shop, which is conviently located in another state.

Benjamin Smith has an appointment at Happily Ever After when a fancy red sports car almost takes him and his bicycle out. Imagine his surprise when he finds the same young woman helping out in the shop where he has an appointment.

Benjamin is everything Skye isn't looking for in a man. Starting with his job - a lawyer with a desk. And he wears bowtie! But preconceived notions are about to be turned around when Benjamin doesn't fit into the mold she placed him in.

Skye has equally baffled Benjamin with her need to have fun. But there more to her than she is presenting to those around her. And her father seems to be the driving force in why she doesn't want to be trapped in a world where THE JOB is everything even sacrificing family to achieve it.  Nope not her!

This is cute read that has depth. The characters are all remarkably likeable, which wouldn't seem to be the case given Skye's personality. But as one gets to know Skye it all makes sense. And what better way to meet a nice guy than while working at a bridal shop. This a perfect summer release/read if you are looking for a clean contemporary Christian romance.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Genre:
Contemporary Christian Romance

Skye Jones has one goal for the summer—keep her father from taking away her convertible. That’s the only reason she’s agreed to work at her sister’s bridal shop in Boulder, Colorado. It will buy her some time to figure out if there’s a non-boring job out there. Why else would she have anything to do with weddings when she has no interest in marriage?

Benjamin Smith can’t quite figure out how he ended up a groomsman in two different weddings over the summer, but with his sister and a cousin both getting married, he’s spending a lot of time at Happily Ever After events. Falling for a blonde with no dreams of settling down wasn’t in his five-year plan, but the more he sees Skye, the more he wants to figure her out. But all she sees him as is a boring attorney and her complete opposite.

Romance was supposed to be for Skye’s friends. But Colorado might hold more than she knew she was looking for.

The Best Summer Of Our Lives ~ Review

The Best Summer Of Our Lives

By Rachel Hauck

1977 was supposed to be the best summer of her life, but everything started going wrong before it even started. And by the end of summer, Summer Wilde's life was no longer on the long charted course that she and her three Best Friends - Spring, Snow, and Autumn had planned together for years.

1997 finds Summer's life once again not where she wants it. Music is the life she wants, but nothing has really worked out for her since her one big hit. At loose ends, Summer heads back to the place where everything went off course.

A decision was made to have "fun," and let's just say it wasn't the best choice to make, and as a result, the Four Seasons have their summer plans decided for them by a judge. Their bad decision leads to the four of them being shipped off to another state and "sentenced" to be camp counselors.

The four girls never thought they could ever drift apart, but this summer is about to strain their bonds. Especially when secrets are brought to light.

When offered a choice, would Summer choose love or fame? Summer is about to discover just where her heart truly lies. Can she make peace with the secrets and hurts of the past and move on to a future she never believed was possible? Sometimes we need to step back and reexamine what we thought we knew with what we now know. (Yeah, just a little cryptic, but it will make sense when you read the book.)

I really enjoyed this book. It was a bit different from what I normally read, but it was still the same excellent writing/storytelling one has come to expect from Rachel Hauck. Highly recommend it as a beach read, a cozy corner read, or a late into-the-night read.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

About the Book:

The summer of '77 was supposed to be the best of Summer Wilde's life. But those plans never had a chance when a teenage prank went awry. Now thirty-something, after her music career crumbles, she returns to the place where everything changed and must face a reckoning with her past and the friends she lost to gain the closure she needs to move forward.

Twenty years ago, the summer of '77 was supposed to be the best summer of Summer Wilde's life. She and her best friends, Spring, Autumn, and Snow--the Four Seasons--had big plans.

But those plans never had a chance. After a teenage prank gone awry, the Seasons found themselves on a bus to Tumbleweed, "Nowhere," Oklahoma, to spend eight weeks as camp counselors. All four of them arrived with hidden secrets and buried fears, and the events that unfolded in those two months forever altered their friendships, their lives, and their futures.

Now, thirtysomething, Summer is at a crossroads. When her latest girl band leaves her in a motel outside Tulsa, she is forced to face the shadows of her past. Returning to the place where everything changed, she soon learns Tumbleweed is more than a town she never wanted to see again. It's a place for healing, for reconciling the past with the present, and for finally listening to love's voice.
