Can they see past the hurts to a future of promise or will they allow their insecurities to tear them apart before they even begin?

Without giving away anything - I will say there are a couple of interesting twists that occur that add an interesting element to the story. So be sure you don't jump ahead while reading (I have a family member who does this and then ruins the element of surprise or shock from her books), seriously don't do it. If I had known of these elements before their proper placement in the story it just won't have had the same impact that it did. 

A Cowboy for Keeps is the first book in Jody Hedlund's new Colorado Cowboys series and it is another enjoyable read from a skilled writer. Greta is a character with whom one can empathize, basically kicked out by her family along with an ill younger sister, she is willing to do almost anything to save. But Greta has to learn that going it alone isn't the best way. With her plans crumbling around her she needs to learn in who to place her trust and concerns. Not an easy lesson for any of us to learn. Wyatt on the other hand has a plan to rescue his family from the very situation that he left behind years ago. But he is dealing with the guilt of leaving his family behind, of failing them. Then there is Judd who we learn very little about but what we do learn gives a glimpse into his past. I really like Judd who helps Wyatt see what he needs to see. He is just what Wyatt, Greta, and Astrid need as they live and work together. I'm looking forward to the second book in this series - if the final chapter is any indication of what is to come it should prove most interesting.

Besotted is the third book in the Fairest Maidens series and it focuses on the youngest Scanian prince Kresten and Mercia's hidden Queen Aurora. One can connect with the characters and empathize with their plights. And then there is Queen Margery who is the ultimate villain, who has no redeeming qualities. Mother or Aunt of the Year she is not.

This is yet another delightful clean YA read from Jody Hedlund and a perfect series conclusion, though I have to admit I'm sorry that this series is ending. And the covers for this series are gorgeous making them a must for any bookcase. I like that there is a tie-in to Jody's previous series The Lost Princesses, which can be read before or after this series.

Ham is back, as the head of Jones, Inc., has to be in the book and the storyline that began at the end of the first book in the Global Search and Rescue series is fleshed out as we meet his daughter Aggie and learn about his wife. Yup, a good bit of drama that takes him to Europe and reveals something of significance is at work - something that could have a bearing on the upcoming Presidential election.

Fans of Susan May Warren's previous series will enjoy little hints at crossovers with the current cast of characters. This series can be read without reading the last series first. I would, however, highly recommend reading the first book in this series as there are many references to what occurred previously. The action is sequential, so reading this series in order is essential to fully grasp what is happening in the current book. So before you crack open the cover of this book, you have to first read The Way of the Brave. (This is an absolute must, in my opinion, to fully enjoy The Heart of a Hero.

If you love dramatic situations with danger and challenges lurking around every corner, you'll love this newest romantic suspense from Susan May Warren. And the conclusion lets the reader know that they will be counting down the days to book 3.
