By Anita Higman
It's hard to believe that I had not heard of Anita Higman before last year. Well, A Marriage in Middlebury is the third book of hers that I have read and I have not been disappointed yet in Anita or her books. I have to thank TCBN/BookFun.org for introducing me to this author and providing me with a copy of this book to review.
Charlotte Rose Hill had a chance at love 20 years ago until Sam Wilder's father managed to convince her to say no. Now Sam is back and he has a fiancee. But Sam and Charlotte still have a connection though they both refuse to acknowledge it. But romance is bursting in Middlebury and their friends are determined to keep them from having lifelong regrets!
Small town charm reigns in Middlebury and Rose Cottage Tearoom is just the kind of place I'd like to visit. Anita brings her characters to life in such a way you truly feel that these are your friends. Curl up in your favorite chair and have a cup of tea and be prepared to enjoy some small town Texas charm. I enjoyed my time with A Marriage in Middlebury interestingly enough with an Earl Grey/Irish Breakfast/Cranberry tea blend (read the book and you'll know what I mean).
I was provided a copy of this book by TBCN/BookFun.org, Abingdon Press, and Anita Higman in exchange for my honest and fair review.
About A Marriage in Middlebury by Anita Higman
"Anita Higman has created an ensemble of characters both romantic and quirky, and the greatest pleasure in reading the book is that all of their stories matter." —Trish Perry, author of The Perfect Blend and Tea for Two
One decision changed both their lives . . . but will love win in the end?
Charlotte Rose Hill enjoys a comfortable life serving up country
delicacies, uniquely blended teas, and matchmaking advice for
her quirky, devoted customers. The only thing lacking is
someone to share it with.
At eighteen she denied Sam Wilder’s marriage proposal after
his family convinced her to walk away from their relationship.
They both moved on . . . or so she thought. When Sam walks back
into her life more than a decade later, Charlotte is surprised that
her heart still quickens. But is it because of his presence?
Or because of the presence of Sam’s new fiancĂ©e?
A second chance at love doesn’t happen often, but their past
may keep them apart. Is it too late for Sam and Charlotte?
