Adding to the confusion that is Ellie's life is her writing. Using her pain and her changing friendships Ellie has created a world where her life is more the way she wants it to be. But if this gets out Ellie will pay the price.
Ellie is the kind of girl I can so relate to. Staying home to study. Late nights writing. Not going to parties just so she can read a book (I have so used this reasoning when I've been asked to a party and it's the truth).
